Everyone along the gulf coast has one eye peeled on Tropical Storm Bonnie, which as of this post, is shooting the gap south of the Florida Everglades. She will be entering the gulf of Mexico and has a very slight chance of intensifying.
Luckily, the storm has taken a slight jog to the north so the forecast track is now adjusted (as of 10 am CST) to bring Bonnie further east for a landfall near New Orleans of somewhat east of NOLA. Also the intensity forecast is still growth to a strong tropical storm.
So good news and bad.
Good news: Bonnie will probably hit quick and be over by mid-week without growing to a hurricane
Bad news: Looks like she is headed right for the B.P. Deep Water Horizon oil spill area. That could create many new problems and delays.
We’re watching… and praying.
